Select a reference that answers a visual question
Use an image that clearly shows the appearance you need to preserve: a character’s face, a product silhouette or an outfit. Multiple unrelated references can confuse the scene. Select the images relevant to the current shoot instead of assuming every image in the project should guide every video.
Describe the movement and the camera separately
Explain what the subject does, where the scene takes place and how the camera observes it. “The person turns toward the window while the camera slowly moves closer” separates subject motion from camera motion. Add the details that must stay consistent, and keep the requested action simple enough to be readable.
Map each character before generating
When more than one character appears, assign the correct reference to each identity. Name positions and eye lines in the scene: who is on the left, who enters from the right and who reacts first. If a voice is involved, verify the speaker assignment as well. Review the storyboard rather than relying on the upload order alone.
Review the interpretation, not just the preview image
Reference-guided video is not a promise of an exact clone or a frame-perfect transformation. The model can alter details as it moves. Inspect the whole clip for changes in faces, product geometry, accessories and unwanted text. An approved shot replacement can fix one part of a film while preserving the other generated clips.

Questions before you start
Is this the same as animating a still image exactly?
The video provider interprets references along with your prompt. It can create a new scene guided by the image; preserving every pixel or reproducing the exact first frame is not guaranteed.
Can different shoots use different people or products?
Yes. Each shoot has its own selected references, while the project can keep common brand and creative context.
May I upload someone else’s photograph?
Only when you have the rights and permission needed for the intended use, including consent for a real person’s likeness. Do not use references for deceptive impersonation.
